Saraswati Puja is celebrated on Vasant Panchami and it also marks the beginning of the preliminary preparations in anticipation of the spring season. Saraswati Puja is celebrated all over India in different ways, depending on the place they live. This Panchami is celebrated 40 days before Spring season blossoms. Most Hindus worship the goddess Saraswati on this day who is the symbol of knowledge, arts, music and language. She signifies creative energy and all forms of power in her.
Since goddess Saraswati is the symbol of knowledge and wisdom, she is worshipped on this day in most of the schools and colleges. Schools and colleges organise functions and decorate pandals and bring goddess Saraswati’s idol to worship in their school. All students come to their respective schools and colleges dressed in their best dresses and they celebrate this festival along with their friends. Functions are held and students sing and perform in that and also entertain their fellow students and teachers. Feasts are also arranged on the occasion of Saraswati Puja for the students.
