Republic day is a red-letter day in the history of our nation as on this day our Constitution became came into force as the official governing document of the nation. Our country was declared a secular and democratic republic on this day. People all around the country celebrate this day by singing the national anthem and hoisting the national flag and saluting it. A grand parade and celebration are also held at the capital city of New Delhi. Several dignitaries, heads of military and government officials are present at this celebration.
A foreign head of state is invited as a chief guest to the celebrations and travels with the President of our country from the Rashtrapati Bhawan to the venue of the celebration. The grand parade consists of tableaus from different government institutions, the states of our country and many other institutions of the military forces. Each tableau represents the rich history and culture of the states or institutions that they are representing. Different platoons or regiments of the army participate in the parade and many other soldiers display their special motorbike skills or airmen show their flying skills.
